About InventHERS
InventHERS is a digital space dedicated to celebrating women inventors from all walks of life. We are committed to sharing their stories and achievements to inspire the next generation of women innovators.
Our Mission
At InventHERS, we aim to provide a platform for women to showcase their groundbreaking inventions and contribute to the advancement of society. Our space is devoted to promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the field of innovation.
Our Story
InventHERS began with a question I kept coming back to as an educator: Why don’t more girls see themselves as inventors?
The answer isn’t a lack of creativity, intelligence, or ambition. It’s history, access, and visibility. For centuries, women have been designing solutions, solving problems, and imagining better futures - often without recognition, protection, or credit. Ideas were dismissed, attributed to others, or simply erased. Even today, only about 13% of patented inventors are women, not because women don’t invent, but because the systems around invention were never built with them in mind.
I’ve spent my career working with students - especially those who don’t always see themselves reflected in STEM spaces - and I’ve watched what happens when someone finally realizes, “This world of invention is for me too.” Confidence shifts. Curiosity deepens. Possibility opens.
InventHERS exists to make those moments more common.
This space was created to amplify the stories of women inventors - past and present - not as rare exceptions, but as proof of what has always been true. It’s also here to provide concrete pathways: hands-on activities, educator tools, and invention resources that help turn ideas into action. Because inspiration matters, but access matters too.
InventHERS is for the student who’s never heard the word “inventor” used to describe someone like her. It’s for educators looking to expand what innovation can look like in their classrooms. And it’s for anyone who believes that the future of invention is stronger, smarter, and more just when more voices are part of it.
This isn’t about rewriting history - it’s about finishing the story. And you’re invited to be part of it.
