The Team

We started inventHERS because we looked around and noticed who was missing from the story of invention and decided to do something about it. This is a team of passionate educators, creators, and community builders who bring their whole selves to the work, because the girls we serve deserve nothing less. We are serious about impact and firm believers that joy belongs in every classroom.

Founder & Chief Invention Enthusiast

Madeline has spent 15+ years in classrooms, from Title I public schools to private schools in Kansas and Florida, picking up a B.A. in Elementary Education, an M.S. in STEM Curriculum & Instruction, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Instruction along the way (almost done, not that she’s counting).

She founded Invention Convention Florida at the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame, scaling it to over 100,000 students across the state. Then she looked at that number, looked at the 13% of patents held by women, and founded inventHERS.

She is a trademarked inventor, a published author, and a lifelong tinkerer who truly believes the best ideas start with someone noticing a problem and refusing to ignore it.

Spoiler: that someone is usually a girl.

Advisory Board Positions: United Inventors Association (UIA), Intellectual Property Empowerment Showcase & Creative (IPESAC)
