Did you know the way we enjoy ice cream today was shaped by inventors? In this hands-on inventHERS Maker Lab, participants will discover how innovators like Nancy Johnson, inventor of the hand-cranked ice cream freezer, and Jessica Matthews, creator of an energy-producing soccer ball, transformed the way people make one of the world's favorite treats.
Participants will identify a problem, imagine a brand-new ice cream concept, and create a prototype of their invention using colorful 3D doodle pens. Finally, they'll enjoy making homemade ice cream while exploring how today's inventors continue building on ideas from the past. The workshop wraps up with a fun opportunity to pitch each invention and celebrate everyone's creativity. This isn't just making ice cream, it's learning to think like an inventor.
